Navigation setup update DMD T865 and SilverFox H1

I had change to update my navigation tablet during year 2024. I had checked long time DMD2 application project and how it was evolving better and better over the time. So when navigation tablet update time come, I was thinking between Samsung galaxy tab active5 and DMD T865, in price point Samsung is clear winner as price is 500-600e while DMD tablet is around 800.

Since I had already Samsung active tab 3, I decided to try something new and selected DMD tablet. One key thing was life time license for DMD that comes along with tablet and that application is build in to tablet to ensure best possible user experience.

For remote I had the first version of SilverFox controllers and now I had change to update it to latest H1 model and give feedback about it functionality and durability to SilverFox crew. So that was obvious choice for controller even Silverfox is making also DMD remotes, I’m happy to use their own brand controller that has unique design.

Once I received goodies I was really happy as everything was working really nicely. Anyway after some time of riding KTM 690 vibration started to create issues to tablet and holder. First, I lost some screws from lock mechanism I was able to get new holder from warranty. Secondly the Pogo pins stopped working. So no charging trough those anymore.

I had also charging issue with tablet that It didn’t charge at all trough USB-C and then screen was burn to yellow. So tablet was also replaced under warranty.

Currently I have again issue with pogo pins and something strange ongoing with USB-C charging as tablet charges only when you have not started it. When tablet starts charging stops. Luckily DMD provides also 3rd charging port that is located back of the device and is waterproof. I have now used that, but probably tablet needs to be replaced once more.

DMD application itself is working perfectly and map legend makes routing and adhoc planning of routes so much easier. With controller you can easily zoom out, zoom in and set new destinations etc.

SilverFox H1 controller is solid quality as expected and I have swim with it and I have crashed hard with it and not a single issue yet. So I can recommend it as really solid and rugger controller

I made short video about tablet and controller and it can be found here:
