Last autumn I did longer round trip and visited at kivesvaara and then headed to Hepoköngäs followed Finland TET route Kivesvaara – Paljakka – Hyrynsalmentie. Then I left from TET route to visit Hepoköngäs
I had bought soft bags to my bike so I could take some tools and gasoline with me. There were bought from XLMoto and were not working as expected at least in my bike. Finally I needed to use several zip ties to get those stay in place. Also one fastener broke right away, but with some tape it was staying some what closed.
Visited again in kivesvaara and this time I got in to restaurant, but it was off season so there wasnt much to offer. Anyway took cup of tea and had some discussion with owner. He mentioned that he has noticed increasing amount of motorbikes stopping there and it is just good that TET route goes next to place.
This part was familiar for me, but sections from Kivesvaara to Hepoköngäs and back to home was totally new for me.
Puolangantie is big tarmac road so not much from that, but when we got rid from that the fun begins.
Paljakka ski resort was good place to fill up tank. There was longer again longer stint with tarmac, but when are on Hallanmaantie ride that some time and turn Paljakantie there is guide how to reach Mustarinnan näkötorni https://goo.gl/maps/GW7RbCqAJsGLaFau5 (It requires some walking to visit there). Its not big loop to do if you have time. Also Paljakantie offers nice uphill driving.
Hepoköngäs, some walking needed to reach water fall, but only like 500m from parking lots. There are nice places to grill some sausages and sit down to relax.
It was time to head home. Went to Puolanka and filled up bike. From there headed to north and Vattulanperäntie. From there you can ride quite nice small roads back to Oulu area. Just be aware that there are reindeers in this section.
I found place called kirkaslampi and it was nice place and water was clear. https://goo.gl/maps/5dgnnFU21c31UCQM6
Forecast was promising rain basically whole day, but I was getting round all the heaviest rain and was able to see also clear sky and sun.
